Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia has today announced FORXAI Temperature Monitoring App (TMA), a newly developed temperature monitoring solution for storing and managing temperature data recorded by a cutting edge thermal camera. Konica Minolta has developed a new technology to visualize temperature using a thermal camera manufactured by MOBOTIX AG.
Last year, Konica Minolta began supplying the Temperature Screening App to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 infections. This system makes it possible to measure body temperature with the thermal camera technology, allowing early detection of individuals suspected to have a fever. Konica Minolta has since improved its technology for the rollout to global users. The company has also launched a fire prevention solution in 2021, enabling constant monitoring of surface temperatures of various objects, being able to quickly detect and notify users of abnormal temperatures that may not be visible to the naked eye.
While these solutions intended to be used for screening as they can detect abnormal temperatures, the newly developed FORXAI TMA has been further enhanced to store continuously recorded data for monitoring and management purposes.
Automating the process of monitoring equipment operations is key to facilitating the transition to digital manufacturing. FORXAI TMA is designed to support the automation of this process by allowing the monitoring of temperatures of equipment and temperature-controlled processes.
FORXAI TMA captures temperature that is invisible to the human eye and display temperature trends in charts. Most temperature sensors used in factories are designed to measure temperature on a point-by-point basis, which limits their use. FORXAI TMA is equipped with a thermal camera that can measure temperatures ranging from −40℃ to 550℃, enabling users to record the areal data of surface temperature of equipment and obtain temperature data at multiple points. By tracking the change of surface temperature over time, users can precisely monitor the state of their equipment. For temperature sensitive activities, such in-process temperature tracking for materials or finished products is essential as part of quality control.
In a factory where temperature control is an essential part of production, FORXAI TMA is used to improve the production efficiency and quality with its ability to provide historical equipment temperature and detect abnormal changes. Data from FORXAI TMA aids users in maintaining equipment and predicting malfunctions. Equipment settings can also be altered to maintain the in-process temperature within the threshold set in manufacturing process.
By combining MOBOTIX’s edge AI camera, Konica Minolta has developed FORXAI and other tools to detect and analyse events.
Through FORXAI, Konica Minolta will combine the technologies of its partner companies to deliver new value to its customers, meeting their needs for greater safety and reliability as well as contactless and labour-saving operations, aiding customers in monitoring of plants, warehouses, and logistic areas to capture thermal images and offering other imaging IoT solutions.
